Is it cheesy to say that Megan Thee Stallion’s latest hairstyle is the cat’s meow? Because it is—literally and figuratively! The rapper told her longtime stylist and best friend Kellon Deryck that she wanted her hair to look like cat ears, and he very much delivered, crafting a hairstyle that is as whimsical as it is glamorous.
Megan, who is gearing up for the release of her new album ACT III and just dropped a “Tina Tuesday Freestyle” to get us excited for what’s to come, showed off the cat-ear updo on her Instagram and TikTok and had fans purring enthusiastically over the look.
Deryck gathered up the platinum blonde lengths and rolled them into two equal portions on either side of Megan’s head, pinning and sculpting them to resemble the pointed shape of a cat ear. At the tip of each “ear” was a small section of peachy-pink color; just the palest, subtlest touch of that same shade was repeated at the tips of her long bangs. It appears that the cat-ear updo was for a project or a photoshoot, but we’ll have to stay tuned for more info.
If you follow Megan on TikTok, you’ll know that she recently adopted an orange cat who she calls Miso; the cat apparently wandered into the studio when she was recording and Megan began feeding her—and thus, a beautiful friendship was born! Miso makes frequent appearances on Megan’s TikTok; this one of the two showing off their claws is worth a watch if you need a little cuteness injection in your Monday routine.
Megan’s kitty-ear hairstyle is the perfect inspo for a cute, easy Halloween hair look if you want to take the traditional cat costume up a notch, but as she proves here, it’s also very wearable for every day.
